Our project HINOMARU PHOTO STUDIO, designed by our office, has been awarded in Unit 14 – Architecture (Industrial/Commercial Facilities Category) at the Good Design Award 2025.

This recognition was made possible through the support and collaboration of everyone involved.

Jury Comments:

This is a community-oriented photo studio rebuilt after a severe flood disaster. Beyond serving its primary function as a photo studio, the design places a bright, open café space at the front, utilizing a “street-like corridor” that creates a welcoming place for local interaction. By softening the formal image typically associated with photo studios, the project invites residents to drop in casually, fostering a sense of everyday connection. The exterior composition of segmented volumes and light materials harmonizes with the surrounding streetscape, gently integrating with the town’s post-disaster redevelopment.
